Welcome back to our Transformation 2.0 Q3 Round-Up! If you missed our town hall or just need a quick reminder, we’ve got you covered!

Yuan kicked off the session by realigning us with our goal of becoming the No. 1 construction company in Malaysia. Even in this transformation journey, we must not forget to celebrate the small wins. So, here’s a quick look at some of the milestones we have accomplished so far.

Technology

We’re also on track to utilise SharePoint to increase document collaboration, launch a YTL Learning Academy platform, and execute a complete revamp of our onboarding system!

For 2022 and 2023, we will be looking to implement an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This will allow us to further optimise our business as we will be able to view reports of our business in real-time. This is, of course, a part of our journey to further digitisation.

The changes so far have focused on operational efficiency and also a little on employee engagement. Moving forward in our transformation journey, we will begin to explore new sources of value creation and ultimately, customer engagement.

Talent

We are proud to announce that we have won the 2021 Graduate Choice Award for being one of the Most Preferred Graduate Employers in both the Construction and Property Developer divisions.

We have also received preliminary results from the HR Asia Awards Committee and have scored above the industry average for all major categories. We have great scores, but we must continue to benchmark ourselves in order to keep going from good to great.

The team behind YTL LA has been working tirelessly to bring you relevant lunchtime talks and other career development opportunities. Since June, we have had more than 30 events with almost 3,000 employees in attendance. We hope to be able to see you soon at more of our talks!

We are happy to say that for Q3, the teams were 91% on track with their OKRs and deliverables. The results for each department are highlighted below. Keep up the good work!

Yeen led the session as we pivoted to talk about Company Updates.

The first key project is the Bukit Raja Warehouse, on track to become one of the biggest high-spec warehouses in Malaysia specialising in FCMG. Construction has begun on a fast-track timeline of 15 months. It will be fully BIM coordinated and you can check out some of the stats below.

The next exciting project is the Kulai Young Masterplan. We will be looking to build Malaysia’s first Green Data Centre Park. 1,600 acres of land has been purchased with green energy data centres in mind. Construction will begin in Q1 2022, starting with the biggest Data Centre in Malaysia with a 48MW IT load capacity.

Finally, we are proud to announce two brand new divisions in our company: Maintenance & Solar.

Tsen closed out the town hall by updating us on the latest developments in our Talent & Culture programs. This year we’ve been guided by our Culture Consultants, 95%, in completing a Leaders and Managers training programme alongside a company-wide joy audit. Leaders will continue to be trained under the mentoring programme, even as we look to implement face-to-face feedback.

YTL Learning Academy has fully commenced with its inaugural language programme to be run over the next six months. We hope to be able to bring you the self-learning modules from FrogAsia as soon as January 2022.

Finally, we were proud to announce the first winners of Employee of the Quarter! Three of them will be walking away with a cash prize of RM 200. Congratulations to our winners!
