Senior Mechanic (TW)

1. What is your job title?
I am a Senior Mechanic (Track Works).

2. How long have you been working for YTL Construction?
I started working for YTL Construction on 1st November 2014 and have been with the company for the past eight years. 

3. What sort of duties do you have at work? 
Hands-on experience conducting service, diagnostics and repairs on heavy machinery, rail-bound machinery, domestic and imported automobiles, and trucks. I also build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to their requirements. Apart from that, I inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. (including hydraulic service and maintenance). As and when needed, I conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability, and troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner. Last but not least, I perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems. 

4. What are you passionate about?
I am most excited about collaborating and working towards a common goal. Every day at work is an opportunity I have to contribute towards the growth of the company – this is what makes my day. 

5. What are you currently excited about in your job?
A lot of people tend to think mechanics are just people who are good with tools, but it also takes an analytical mind, communication skills, and a strong technical aptitude. I like how I get to balance both sides in my current job. 

6. What advice would you give to your teenage self?
Be kind to yourself and to others, worry less, trust yourself and don’t mind what people think about you.

7. What  is one thing most people don’t know about you?
I am a person who does not give up easily and is always extremely focused on everything I do.

8. What’s the top destination on your must-visit list?
The Seven Wonders of the World, Santorini and Europe.  

9. What is your favourite thing to do when you are not working?
I love to watch football and spend time with my family and friends.
