A visit to Menara’s Level 8 has always been a ritualistic experience. Stepping out from the lifts and through the heavy double doors, I can’t think of a better way to start the day than with the scent of freshly brewed coffee, warm toasties, and pastries wafting through the air. Add the sound of soft lo-fi music playing in the background and you’ve got yourself the perfect ambiance — all thanks to Feeling+. 

A recent venture by the incredible team behind Optimist Coffee, Feeling Plus or Feeling+ is the ideal spot to get your daily dose of caffeine and positivity in a cup. ‘Just as the name suggests, Feeling+ is a continuity of our core values at Optimist. We are all about spreading optimism, one cup o’ Joe at a time,’ says Trev Ng, founder of Feeling+. One look at the lid of their to-go cups, and it’s evident they take their responsibility of sharing good vibes all around very seriously. 

When asked about his experience interacting with customers at their flagship café at The Five and Menara, Trev notes a slight difference in their approach to customers. ‘Menara is a space where everyone who visits becomes a regular presence. It allows us to have more conversations, and as a result, build better relationships with our Menara customers.’  

Take a quick look at their menu, and their best-selling toasties are sure to pique your interest. With freshly sliced bread, toasted to an impeccable crispness at the edges while maintaining a chewy, soft interior, and filled with delectable combinations such as Kimchi Mushroom, Triple-Cheese with Pesto, Miso Chicken with Pumpkin, BBQ Beef Bacon, and Mac ‘n’ Cheese with Cauliflower Karaage. (Be sure to check out what they have each week, as their toasties are rotated weekly!) 

And if you’re a fellow dessert fiend like me, be prepared to hold yourself back from their delectable sweet treats offered. With yummy desserts such as pain au raisin, cinnamon roll (a personal favourite), cempedak loaf and kouign-amann, just to name a few, the temptation to return multiple times a week to check what delightful creations they have for the day can be irresistible.

Feeling+ serves as the perfect hang when you need a place to gather with a fellow colleague for a quick coffee break in the morning; as well as the cosiest post-lunch hideaway when you need to hunker down and get work done. If you’re at Menara, be sure to drop by Level 8 for a quick pick-me-up and a shot of optimism. You’ll be delighted to discover that Jess, the friendly and talented coffee barista, is always ready to serve you with a warm smile and a meticulously crafted cup of your favourite brew.
