Welcome to a day of pranks galore, otherwise known as April Fool’s Day!

While we all love a good laugh from pulling off pranks on a smaller scale, it’s time to buckle up and brace yourselves for something bigger. Today, we’re embarking on a journey through the side-splitting spectrum of April Fool’s tomfoolery. So, get ready as we take you through the ultimate showdown of pranking genius in Malaysia and Singapore.

1) All Sticks, All Dip

Meiji Yan Yan, known for its perfect balance of crispy sticks and delectable dip, pulled off a prank that left snack enthusiasts scratching their heads. The ultimate conundrum for Yan Yan lovers everywhere. Personally, we’re all about the dip life so we were hoping this could be the start of something new…

2) Are You A Sweet or Savoury Ice Cream Person?

Dairy Farm’s Meadow’s ice cream creators must have been so caught up in the thrill of innovation that they forgot to consider the consequences of their latest concoction – soy sauce ice cream.

According to Meadow’s, the “salty notes of the soy sauce perfectly complement the sweetness of the ice cream,” promising an unforgettable taste experience. We’re not entirely convinced.

3) Purr-fect Protection Programme

Singapore’s AETOS Feline (F-9) Unit caused a stir with claims of being trained to detect danger. Despite the amusing assertion that cats have superior senses, like detecting cancer and explosives, the announcement amused many. Meet Gargar, the unit’s star, renowned for his agility and unique personality. While it may be a prank, the Feline Unit had everyone entertained!

4) An Egg-celent Surprise

Salted egg yolk, a flavor sensation that took the food scene by storm, has extended to cultured milk drinks. Calpis teased this savoury twist as an April Fool’s joke. Fortunately, it remains just that—a joke. We’ll stick to classics; drinking salted egg yolk doesn’t quite tickle our taste buds.

5) Eau de Oden

Ever strolled past a FamilyMart and pondered the possibility of smelling like their tantalising oden? If so, you’ve likely fallen for their clever prank. While we’re unsure if it’s tomyam or curry oden, FamilyMart promises the aroma will linger for a week.

And there you have it! From soy sauce flavoured ice cream and oden perfume, April Fool’s Day never fails to surprise. Remember to prank responsibly today — happy pranking, everyone!
