Let’s take a trip down memory lane and revisit the time when we solidified our core values as an organisation. On 21st September 2016, the Group organised an official event at JW Marriott to commemorate the launch of our ‘Building The Right Thing’ slogan, our five core values, as well as the BTRT Awards (FYI, the BTRT Awards Nominations for this year are open; nominate an outstanding colleague and team here!).   

The event captured the essence of YTL’s inception in the 50s by featuring a quaint-looking sweet shop filled with a wide variety of candies that we all grew up with. The iconic iced gem biscuits were the highlight of the event for many reasons. Despite being a simple treat, it continues to be enjoyed by generations of people, serving as a poignant reminder that anything with lasting value is worth preserving.  

The late Tan Sri Dato’ Seri (Dr) Yeoh Tiong Lay surprised everyone by taking charge in distributing the containers of iced gem biscuits to the delight of the staff while posing for pictures.
