It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved colleague, Mr Jerry Lim Khoon Hai, Executive Director of YTL Construction. Jerry passed away peacefully on October 18.

Jerry has been a crucial part of YTL Construction and started his journey when employed as a Quantity Surveyor by the late Tan Sri Yeoh Tiong Lay. Jerry dedicated over 40 years of his life to building and leading YTL Construction. Many milestone projects were successfully completed under the careful and steady guidance of Jerry as Project Director.

From the Kuala Terengganu and Klang General Hospital to the development of the 12 Nucleus Hospitals, Jerry led the company to become the leading design and build contractor and developer in the nation.

He also played a key role in the development of many of our notable property development projects, from our award-winning properties in Sentul such as D6, D7, Capers and Fennel; 3 Orchard by The Park, Sandy Island and Kasara in Singapore as well as our master planned developments Lake Fields, Sungai Besi and Lake Edge, Puchong.

His contributions to the ERL Project pioneered the foundations that we continue to build on today, especially with regards to the group’s expertise in railways. After the ERL project, Jerry was the Project Director for the Sentul-Batu Caves Electrified Double Track Project, ERL Extension to KLIA2 and most recently the Gemas-Johor Bharu Electrified Double Track Project.

Jerry was a great contributor in the success of most of the large-scale construction projects and was also key to grooming many of the leaders that we have in YTL Construction today. He will be remembered for his sincerity and generosity in helping and sharing wisdom and council with all his colleagues.

He was brilliant, thorough, diligent and most importantly, a good friend to many. It was an absolute privilege to have him in our family.  He will be deeply missed.Â
