1. What is your position in YTL Construction? 
I am an Administrative Officer under the YTL Learning Academy. 

2. How long have you been working for YTL Construction?
I’ve been with the company for the past one month.

3. What sort of duties do you have at work? 
I assist with administrative work for the YTL Learning Academy, prepare ad-hoc training analyses, liaise with floor and site admins, and communicate with staff from different departments. 

4. What is your ideal way to spend your weekends?
I sometimes bake for my family. However, I also spend my leisure time playing The Sims video game series. 

5. What’s one thing you wish you’d known when you started working for YTL Construction? 
How big the company is. I heard good stories from my family when I said I had gotten the offer from YTL Construction. They mentioned that the company is a very strong and powerful company, especially in the construction field. Little did I know, there are also other projects that YTL Construction is involved in. 

6. What kind of pet do you have, and how did you choose its name? 
I currently have one cat at home, Tipah Karpet. Unfortunately, Ireng, my other cat, died three months ago. Ireng means black in Javanese, and he was a black cat like Salem from the American sitcom called Sabrina the Teenage Witch. As for Tipah Karpet, her name says it all. Her fur is as soft as a carpet. At times, she would just lay down on your feet and be your furry slippers too. 

7. If you could live in any city, where would it be and why? 
Malacca. I always enjoyed the liveliness of Malacca, especially during Friday nights. There is something special about Friday nights in Malacca, with the local markets and colourful beca. Apart from the fun, the food in Malacca is also the best. Craving some good Asam Pedas? Head to Asam Pedas Selera Kampung and Asam Pedas Kak Nora. The authentic Cendol Nyonya at Bibik House on Jonker Street (next to FamilyMart) is also a must-try! I might as well be your local guide! 

8. What are you currently excited about in your job? 
I get to interact with almost all the YTL staff. Sometimes my duties require me to communicate with participants of the YTL Learning Academy training courses and it always brings me joy when I say, “Hi, I’m Amirah from YTL Learning Academy!” I think this has become my favourite phrase.  

9. How do you wind down after a busy day at work? 
I will put my headphones on and start binge-watching my favorite TV shows, Modern Family and Gilmore Girls.

10. Do you like old-fashioned calendars or do you save all your events digitally? Why? 
I prefer old-fashioned calendars. This is where I get creative. I get to jot down and make colourful notes.
