The Building The Right Thing (BTRT) Awards were launched in 2016 at the annual YTL Leadership Conference (now known as LEAD). It exists to celebrate and bring to the wider group the stories of individuals and teams who live out the five YTL core values in their day-to-day.

‘Mr Congeniality’ hails from ERL Maintenance Support (E-MAS) and is none other than the late Darren Mario.

We are proud to say that when under pressure, many YTL staff intuitively respond quickly and effectively. Mohan: SPYTL fire at staff accommodation; Roslee: on-site slope collapse; Alex Ho: “Guardian Angel” to a colleague trapped in a lift; Chung Kiat: cleared loosened gravel due to heavy rainfall which could have caused terrible accidents!

The five core values of YTL are hard work, honesty, vitality, togetherness and moral responsibility. Vivaciousness isn’t included.

And the answer is.... Caren Tham who is from YTL e-Solutions! All the other people listed are from YTL Hotels: Captain Mokh is from Tanjong Jara Resort, we met Justin Juhun at Gaya Island Resort and Tika Bahadur is stationed at Ritz-Calton and JW Marriott, KL.

Unsung no more, may everyone always remember the heroic yet humble legacy of Azman Mustaffa from YTL Communications.

Every year, five BTRT Awards are given to four (4) individuals and one (1) team who were nominated by their colleagues and selected by that year’s judging panel.

This is a winner from the 2018 BTRT Awards: Felix from YTL e-Solutions! He suffered a concussion following a hit-and-run accident. The hard work of him & his team is the very reason why the Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur is always bustling with exciting events.
