We organised a one-hour livestream webinar where Ms. Yee unfolded stories from her journey with YTL. She brought us back to the early days of YTL Construction, when she was under the leadership of our beloved late founder, Tan Sri Yeoh Tiong Lay. Joining YTL in her early 20s when YTL Construction had just been set up, Ms. Yee became the sole administrator and secretary in the company. Under Tan Sri Yeoh Tiong Lay’s guidance, she learned the ropes of the construction industry. It was never easy but she persevered.

She also picked up many essential life values from the late Tan Sri Yeoh Tiong Lay that she still practises today. One of the most obvious values would be Hard Work, which is one of our core values today in YTL. Ms. Yee expressed her grateful appreciation for having had the privilege of working hand-in-hand with our late founder.

Ms. Yee also worked with all of the Executive Directors – Tan Sri Francis, Dato’ Kian, Dato’ Soo Min, Dato’ Hong, Dato’ Sri Michael, Dato’ Soo Keng as well as Dato’ Mark, upon their return from graduating abroad in the 1980s.

She continued to share her most memorable experiences throughout her 48 years of working in YTL. From organising eight yearly company concerts to other prolific events , Ms. Yee has always been the person to ensure events in the company go smoothly.

Ms. Yee took up a variety of significant responsibilities that brought her to be the HR and Admin Director of YTL Construction, working alongside our three young and energetic directors — Yuan, Tsen and Yeen. She gave us some very practical advice to ponder at the end of her farewell interview. She advised us to align our personal goals with the company’s goals to achieve greater satisfaction and fulfillment at work.

After the webinar ended, we had some light refreshment and were delighted to have catch-up sessions with one another. We also took some photos together for memories.

Ms. Yee’s hard work and strong will for achievement has positioned the HR and Admin Department of YTL Construction to be where it is today.

Thank you for all that you have done Ms. Yee. We will certainly miss you!
