YTL Construction takes pride in contributing to the communities around where we operate. This is because we believe in giving back to the places in which we live, work and raise our families. Santun Komuniti YTL is a recent campaign which we launched with the aim of establishing and creating strong relationships with the local community. Relationships which are based on mutual recognition and respect, trust and ultimately, the goal of improving the quality of life.

Santun Komuniti YTL focuses on our initiatives which are related to:

  1. Education
  2. Community Engagement
  3. Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR)

Arts and Crafts with the Less Fortunate

The Stakeholder department initiated a virtual arts and crafts program with the less fortunate beginning in August this year. To date, they have organised nine virtual sessions with more than 120 orphanages and old folk’s homes in Johor and the Klang Valley area. Last month, the Stakeholder department organised another two art sessions with Ti Ratana Welfare Home and Lighthouse Children Welfare Home.

Ti Ratana Welfare Home

The first session was held on 22nd November 2021 in conjunction with World Children’s Day alongside 30 children at Ti Ratana Welfare Home. In this session, the children were asked to complete colouring templates which had been sent ahead to them. The orphans were also told about the history of World Children’s Day and the significance behind the celebration.

Lighthouse Children Welfare Home

In another similar engagement, the Stakeholder department organised an arts and crafts session called Pot of Kindness with 32 kids from Lighthouse Children Welfare Home, at their place in Bangsar on 29th November 2021.

During the session, the Stakeholder department shared with the kids about how to spread kindness and be more positive in life. The children were asked to flaunt their creativity through designing the ‘pot of kindness’ by shaping and cutting materials,  whilst enjoying some delectable treats at the same time.

If you know of any orphanages and/or old folk’s centres that might be interested in our arts and crafts programmes, please contact Nina Jamil at [email protected] to nominate them!

Let’s reach out and put a smile on their faces.
