Site Safety Supervisor

1. What is your job title?
I am a Site Safety Supervisor under the CRJGR project in Section 2, Labis.

2. How long have you been working for YTL Construction?
I have been working with YTL for almost five years now.

3. What sort of duties do you have at work? 
Basically, as a safety practitioner, I supervise the work activities at the site to ensure they are carried out safely and adhere to the company’s requirements and practices.

4. How do you prefer to start your day? 
It always starts with my daily dose of ‘teh tarik’.

5. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? 
I dreamt of becoming a pilot when I was young. I had my first flight experience at the age of five and loved it since then.

6. What’s a work-related accomplishment that you’re really proud of? 
My biggest accomplishment is obtaining the Green Book (‘Orang Yang Kompeten SHO’) from the Department of Occupational Safety and Health Malaysia (DOSH). The process of obtaining the Green Book is not easy, you have to undergo many seminars and sit for exams.

7. What three words would your friends use to describe you? 
Tall, friendly, Singh.

8. What was your first job? 
My first job was as a resident photographer in a nightclub.

9. If you could only eat one item for every meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? 
MAGGI GORENG! I can eat that all day, every day.

10. What trend do you hope makes a comeback?
I wish the afro trend back in the late 60s and early 70s makes a comeback. I found pictures of my dad in his early days with his afro hairstyle. It looked very cool and it would be fun to have the trend back these days.
