We ended July with our Transformation 2.0 Town Hall.

With so much packed into one town hall we don’t blame you if you missed out on a thing or two!

We will recap anything you might’ve missed from the live event! Yuan started off by reminding us that the reason we are embarking on Transformation 2.0 is to go Above & Beyond to become the No. 1 Construction Company in Malaysia! With these goals in mind, we will be relying on Objective Key Results (or OKRs for short) to drive us.

Technology Update

We will be soon using new technology to help us drive forward. To ensure we meet our growing needs we will be soon moving over to Microsoft 365! You can see below how this might affect you.

We have also begun implementing a full adoption of BIM starting with our Kwasa Damansara project! BIM will allow us to integrate and collaborate between various departments within YTL Construction reducing overall changes in design.

There’s more! We will soon be rolling out:

  • A new intranet for YTL Construction
  • Improved IT Support & Service
  • Data Analytics capability created

Talent Update

We’ve launched the YTL Learning Academy in July!

Since then we’ve had more than 6 talks with many programmes up and coming.

Soft Skills Courses and Language Programmes will be launching soon! Look out for them in your email!

We have also relaunched our Graduate Training Programme to ensure that we continue to invest into our future talent pool.

Upcoming Initiatives

This year we’ve been running a stream of internal initiatives such as Hi Boss, D2D, Townhalls and other online talks, but there’s much more planned and will be coming to you soon.

There will be a HR Roadshow to each department to show each department the Career Roadmap for each role within the department.

Buddy System

We have also launched a buddy system for new joiners, as part of our revised onboarding journey. Each newcomer will be paired with 1 employee from a different department or unit, but in the same location for 3 months. Buddies will offer support and encouragement to new joiners so they can adapt better to the YTL Construction culture.

YTL Recreational Club

We have many exciting events launching in August with our virtual YTL Recreational Club. We have two types of events through August.

  • Exercise classes, every Friday at 6PM in August (Pilates, Cardio and Yoga)
  • Health Talks, over lunchtime with medical experts to discuss on topics related to your health including eye health, cancer awareness talks and nutrition.

Internal Feedback Page

Since we’ve launched the feedback page, we’ve received lots of feedback regarding mental health, benefits, annual leave, IT response times, and other staff welfare issues. We want to assure you that this feedback page is fully anonymous and is read through by management on a regular basis.

Staff Welfare & Benefits

Ensuring that staff are all taken care of is vital to our growth and transformation. We want to make sure that we are able to meet the needs of the very heart of our company, our talent!

Starting 1st of August, Staff will have access to Marriage Leave and Compassionate Leave.

We also want to make sure that you can take care of your families with our Mother’s Room on Level 23, Parking at Menara YTL for Pregnant Employees and even Paternity Leave for new dads!

We also want to ensure that we are able to take care of your mental health. All staff are entitled to two sessions a year with a certified counsellor. All sessions are fully anonymous, and bookings can be made directly with the counsellors. Look out for the booking form in your email or reach out to [email protected]. 

We have also included updated benefits like outpatient treatment! Read more below to find out more about your new benefits.

We will be using the new medical app when we walk into panel clinics for medical services. To find out which are the panel clinics, lease download the app called “Optimal Health 1111” here:

Management Updates

Finally, as part of our new job architecture, we are formalizing job grading and bands. You can look at the chart below with some job title examples. We will soon be releasing an employee handbook that will highlight all these things in detail.
