Energy Efficient Appliance Label
The Energy Commission of Malaysia has made the Energy Efficient Appliance Label compulsory for most household appliances in order to better guide the public in choosing energy efficient appliances. Each product is evaluated with 1 to 5-Stars, with 5-Stars being the most energy efficient.
Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul announced Programme Save 2.0, under the Malaysia Budget 2021, which encourages the use of energy efficient home appliances. The programme will provide a RM200 e-rebate for households to purchase locally manufactured air-conditioners and refrigerators that are energy efficient (4 to 5-Stars).
