2020 has been a year to forget! It is undeniable that there are stark and daunting contrasts in what we had hoped for and how things had actually turned out. Whilst uncertainty lies ahead, we hope you will start afresh with renewed energy and a positive vision for 2021.

As you make your New Year’s resolutions, keep the environment in mind. No matter how big or small your actions are, they create impacts that affect the people around us. It is now the time to rethink our habits and include helping people and the environment at the top of our to-do-list. So, what are your green resolutions to start 2021 sustainably?

To get you going, we have put together some ideas:

Say No to All Plastic

Rolled out in 2019, YTL Group continues to strive towards the target of zero single use plastic by 2025 across the group. This new year, we encourage you to do the same through easy steps by changing some of your daily habits:

· Swap disposables for reusable alternatives
· Bring your own lunch box and coffee mug for takeaways
· Carry your own reusable shopping bags
· Every time you visit a store with excessive plastic packaging, write them a review and request a switch to sustainable alternatives

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

March into 2021 by putting a stop to the endless throwaway culture to embrace buying less and reusing more. This small change lifts the strain off the planet's resources and reduces the pressure on landfills, contributing to a cleaner environment.

· Host book or clothing swaps with your friends and family
· Plan your shopping and reduce waste by only buying what you need
· Upcycle old items by giving them a second life
· Segregate your waste to ensure recyclables are not contaminated

Volunteer for a Good Cause

If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to contribute to the environment and society, why not sign up as a volunteer? Not only do you get to help protect mother nature, but volunteering also gives you a sense of accomplishment and enhances your physical and mental health. Kick off the New Year with a selfless contribution!
